Meet the Maker
My name is Celeste Ramirez, and I am an enthusiastic artist and creator. I have been crocheting for 10 years, knitting for 1 year, sewing with gusto for about 4 months, though I have known the basics for much longer than that.
My mother is the key enabler and inspiration to my crafting and art focus. Throughout my childhood, she made my clothing, sewed some of our home decor, crocheted blankets, and doodled constantly. As an adult, I enjoy taking that creative drive and making all sorts of things with it!
I have loved exploring crochet and taking it places I didn't expect it would go. I have made clothes, costume pieces, blankets, plushies, bags, home decor, mobiles, and so much more I'm not thinking of right now. Check my portfolio for examples of my work.
As a knitter, I have been happily exploring techniques more than I have been focusing on specific items. I love gathering up experience with many stitches and textures. My goal is to feel as comfortable with knitting as I do with crochet! In my short time knitting, I have made hats, cowls, scarves, and a lovely hood that will be my Halloween and Ren Faire costume for years to come!
My experience with making many things, as well as my enrollment in the Crochet Guild of America's Master of Fundamentals of Crochet course and the Craft Yarn Council's Certified Instructor (Crochet, Level 1) course, have prepared me to teach others this rewarding craft. Since 2023, I have taught dozens of people the basics of crochet, and assisted more skilled crocheters with confusing patterns and advanced techniques. I love seeing creativity find a new channel through a growing skill!
I also look forward to being certified as a knitting and sewing instructor someday soon!

In addition to fiber arts, I also enjoy drawing and watercolor painting, reading and listening to audiobooks, playing video games like Hades and Guild Wars 2, hiking and camping, spending time with my sweetheart, and making my home cozy.
